Dr. McLaughlin earned his bachelor’s degree in animal science from the University of Connecticut in 1984 and went on to receive his veterinary degree from Oklahoma State University. He has been an associate veterinarian at Colchester Veterinary Hospital for over 35 years.
He resides in East Hampton with his wife, Elisabeth. They share their home with two Irish Setters, Clover and Charlotte, and two cats, Chloe and Caden.
An avid runner and cyclist, Dr. McLaughlin regularly participates in triathlons and marathons. He proudly holds the title of Ironman, having completed a race that includes a 2.4-mile swim, a 112-mile bike ride, and a 26.2-mile marathon.
